St. Anthony Home
Recognizing the need for a quality health care facility for northwest Indiana’s elderly, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago purchased a sturdy old farmhouse in Crown Point in 1939. After a few months of cleaning, they opened their doors and St. Anthony Home rapidly filled to its capacity of 19 residents. Growth continued in 1977 with the opening of a new wing, raising capacity to more than 200 residents.
Since 1939, the story of St. Anthony Home has been one of continuing growth as the Sisters’ commitment to the elderly led to St. Anthony Home growing into Franciscan Communities at St. Anthony Campus.
