The Elms Assisted Retirement Campus is located in a beautiful Victorian neighborhood central to downtown Westerly, RI. We are within minutes of safe walking distance to Granite Theatre, Wilcox Park, Westerly Library and many churches, shops and restaurants.
Founded in 1985 by onsite Owner Guy Maiorano, we have been a trusted home to thousands of seniors who desire worry-free, month to month apartment rental with full amenity services, as well as healthcare support as needed.
We are privately owned and operated, and completely resident-focused unlike most other assisted living communities controlled by large corporations and burdened by unreasonable distractions, overhead expenses, and constant turnover of staff.
At The Elms main building, residents enjoy an independent, autonomous lifestyle with daily fitness, social and cultural opportunities, dining, maid and laundry service, and chauffeured transportation and outings. Most utilities and safety/security systems are included in the rental fee. Staff are onsite and available to all residents 24 hours per day. The community’s electrical system is backed by a generator that provides 100% power supply in the event of an outage. The Elms is also licensed to centrally store and administer medications and assist with dressing and bathing as needed.
Carriage House and Chestnut Cottage are free- standing, dedicated memory care neighborhoods providing enhanced safety, security and wellness services for residents with dementia. The thoughtful design and operation minimize the anxiety and confusion that often accompanies residents with memory loss. Both buildings are highly supervised by professional nurses with many years of experience in behavioral health and aging.
