Fun activities for seniors to do in Fullerton

As a Senior Care Advisor, I have helped thousands of seniors find assisted living communities in Fullerton since 2016. It’s safe to say I have some experience with some of the most popular activities for seniors in the area. Here is a list of the top activities for seniors in Fullerton, recommended by local seniors I have helped this past year.

1. Laguna Lake Park

Laguna Lake Park offers a variety of amenities that get the elderly outside and enjoying fresh air. Between the disco golf course, fitness area, and pedestrian trails, it is easy for seniors to get their daily exercise in. The park surrounds Laguna Lake, a home to various species of waterfowl. If you enjoy birdwatching or fishing, this is the place for you!

“I have enjoyed visiting Laguna Lake Park for about three years now and it never gets old. I enjoy taking a stroll down the packed dirt trails or birdwatching near the dam…I highly suggest the park to any senior looking to get out and get some sun.” -Kathy C.

2. The Fullerton Arboretum

The Fullerton Arboretum offers an extensive botanical collection. They serve the community by providing visitors and members the opportunity to learn and appreciate the plant world. They offer scholarly programs that teach everything there is to know about the beautiful plants they have there.

“When I first toured the urban oasis, the employee said there were over 4,000 plants and trees on the 26 acres of land! It was beautiful! The various smells and sights were amazing.” -Grace M.

3. The Muckenthaler Art and Cultural Center

The Muckenthaler family built this beautiful 18-room mansion in 1924 to host their citrus and nut farming business. In 1965, their son Harold, donated the mansion to the city under the stigma that can be used to prove public experiences of creativity and imagination. Today, they follow Harold’s vision to the tee by holding hundreds of events every year. Enjoy concerts in their outdoor amphitheater, cultural festivals, art gallery exhibits, lecture series, and more!

“I recently went to their Jazz festival and it was amazing. Afterwards, I enjoyed a walk around the garden. This is a great play for fellow seniors to enjoy a day out of the house.” -Grant H.

4. Fullerton Museum Center

Home to the Leo Fender gallery, the Fullerton Museum Center offers a wide collection of historical items. They also are home to the Golden Legacy, which hosts a gallery of over 75 years of Golden Books.

“I love this place because of how diverse their selection of exhibits are. The history is astonishing and I learn so much everytime I visit.” -Anonymous

If you enjoy golf, you’re in luck. The Fullerton Golf Course offers a well-tended course, friendly staff, and a challenging layout. They also offer a 25-station driving range that slopes downhill and The Clubhouse, a cozy restaurant that offers breakfast and lunch.

“I took my two grandkids to the golf course and had a great time. They offer programs for kids that taught my grandkids everything there is to know about golf. I suggest going here with your grandchildren the next time you get a chance.” -Beverly Y.
