Research is beginning to con rm that spending time outdoors may improve sleeping patterns, reduce pain, decrease urinary incontinence and verbal agitation, speed up recovery from disability, and even increase longevity.

Or consider these excerpts from the WebMD website on the value of a nature prescription:
“A 2007 study from the University of Essex in the U.K., for example, found that a walk in the country reduces depression in 71% of participants. The researchers found that as little as ve minutes in a natural setting, whether walking in a park or gardening in the backyard, improves mood, self-esteem, and motivation. . . In a 2010 Japanese study, researchers found that elements of the environment, such as the odor of wood, the sound of running stream water, and the scenery of the forest can provide relaxa- tion and reduce stress; those taking part in the study experienced lower levels of cortisol, a lower pulse rate, and lower blood pressure. “

The evidence is overwhelming.
But really, it is as simple as this: given the choice, would you rather live in a park or next to a busy street?
14 acres. A dock on a beautiful lake and three ponds: turtles, sh, birds of every sort. Lovely grounds, and mature trees. An outdoor grill and re pit, a wonderful walking loop with seating. It really is a better choice.
