Brookdale College Square

Brookdale College Square is a mental health care community that specializes in the supervision of seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of Dementia. We are located in a well hidden and quiet neighborhood in Overland Park, yet still close to shopping malls and restaurants.

Our mental health care community is designed to make the lives of the senior residents with memory impairment more enjoyable and comfortable for them. The buildings in the community consist of four neighborhoods attached to a common area that includes our beauty shop, health care facilities and a large activity center. Each neighborhood has 13 studio bedrooms which consist of a kitchen area, dining and living room and a mini bathroom. Our community ensures that the senior residents are surrounded by health workers in a small home-like setting.

Our outdoor and courtyard areas are popular for the seniors and to their families to enjoy a warm and sunny day while relaxing in the shade or gardening in our raised garden beds. The whole community is completely enclosed and includes numerous walking paths around the area.

The health workers are carefully chosen to work with seniors who are suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of Dementia. Their compassion and affection towards our senior residents help them feel at ease and well cared for. We aim to meet the different needs of each senior by preparing a daily familiar routine and enriching activities for all of them. The daily routine includes the following:

• Mental exercises such as brain stimulating games
• Physical activities (dancing, exercise and sports)
• Individual and group life activities
• Life and memory engaging programs
• Full meal service with a memory impairment friendly menu
• Enclosed walking areas where senior residents can safely explore the community
