Highlands Place

Highlands Place is located in the heart of beautiful Somerset, Kentucky. We are eight miles north of the Cumberland River and 13 miles west of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Somerset is home to one of the largest classic car shows in Kentucky and it is enjoyed by several of our residents. Civil War re-enactments and historical museums are popular sightseeing trips for our residents as well.

Our caring staff takes the time to get to know our residents on an individual and personal level so we can offer them quality care. We develop individual care plans in cooperation with the resident, their family and their medical staff. We can provide rehabilitation services as well as assistance with daily tasks such as grooming and medication management. All of our residents can take advantage of our housekeeping and laundry services as well as transportation to medical appointments and group outings.

Our activities director plans activities that promote socialization and stimulation as well as having a good time with friends:

• Individualized exercise classes, including Tai Chi
• Gospel song nights
• Arts and crafts classes
• Various types of games
• Popcorn and movie night with resident chosen movies
• Fish fry socials

  Our community offers many common areas for all to enjoy. If you have visiting family or friends feel free to entertain them in our private dining room or invite them to spend the night in our guest rooms. You can keep in touch with distant friends on our internet connected computers. Our library is a wonderful haven for the bookworm and our lounges provide comfortable recliners and couches for visiting and watching TV. Our lovely landscaped grounds provide opportunities for gardening, bird watching and strolling among the flowers.
