Joseph’s Chateau

This is an invitation for men (aged 55+), to come and live in a home and yard environment that is maintained to be nurturing – with laughter, personal care, household helps, home monitoring, medication reminders, transportation and escort services. Our specialty areas are general companion care, memory aids, respite, rehabilitation, and hospice. The quality services provided at Joseph’s Chateau are individually designed to promote your independence, dignity, and well-being. The emphasis is on supporting what you can do and finding ‘peace of mind’ solutions to challenges. Joseph’s Chateau strives to provide quality, compassionate care and companionship within a loving and hopeful spiritual environment of integrity, respect, value, healing, and quiet tranquility.

Geographic information:

In a quiet southern suburb of St. Paul lays the residential area of Mendota Heights, a family oriented community that is 10 to 15 minutes away from the downtown areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Overlooking the confluence of two major rivers – the Minnesota and the Mississippi – the community reflects the privacy, quiet, and restfulness of its natural setting.

Located near the intersection of Highway 110 and Lexington Avenue, Joseph’s Chateau is just moments away from the Minneapolis – Saint Paul International Airport, Mall of America, the forth-coming Southern Outlet Center, and the local West Robert Street shopping strip, not to mention many community-based activities fostered by a city council that takes the excellence and quality of their programs to the next highest level.

We are located close to the intersection of Interstate 35E and Highway 110 and we service all of Dakota and Ramsey counties. Police, fire, and a new senior community village are all within two miles from us. If your beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, or relative is not emotionally ready to move into a healthcare facility, then this is a positive, ‘win-win’ alternative for all of the family members.

History

Joseph’s Chateau was named after the director’s father who was a World War II Navy veteran who died with Alzheimer’s. She has also cared for a World War II Air Force veteran, two VA vets that served in the Vietnam era, and her husband who in addition to advanced prostate and bone cancer also had mild Alzheimer’s and whom she took sole care of right up to his crossing over into heaven. From these life experiences, the director converted her personal home into a Residential Care HOME for men only. The fully licensed and Better Business Bureau certified home has been operating since the summer of 2011. The staff members have combined experience in senior care of over 30 years. The unique and special features about Joseph’s Chateau are the private bedrooms with Direct TV, and a limit on the number of residents in order to keep a home environment. Most of the men are mobile or have some sort of medical equipment and maneuver the stairs (or use a stair lift).
