Shady Oaks offers strong nursing in a cozy, caring, and loyal home. We were the 2nd assisted living in Connecticut. We have 40 years of experience and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. We are a smart alternative to 24hr. live-in care and nursing homes.

Strong Nursing: We excel at high end nursing and dementia care. Our supervising nurse has 19 years of experience here. We uphold an aide-to-resident-ratio of about 1:8 days, 1:16 nights.

Cozy Homemaking: Our cozy home has just about 35 residents, and we provide full services for them with easy all-inclusive pricing. Our lead housekeeper has 15 years of experience here.

Caring Heart: We personalize services and fill our home with loving people. Our wellness director has a Hartford Seminary Master’s Degree. Residents get up to $4,154 monthly in CT&VA aid.

Loyal Home: Shady Oaks has just one location. The owner is a Marine veteran with a PhD from Harvard University. Both his grandmothers lived at Shady Oaks. He lives next door.

Survey Results: This year, we sent surveys to the families of current and prior residents. Counting all 67 written replies, 100% circled yes they recommend Shady Oaks. 100% agreed we provide great nursing. 99% agreed our home is cozy. We also asked prior resident families if they felt we were loyal. 98% circled yes. Many replies had notes of gratitude. Here is one: “My mother was very well taken care of in a very warm home setting. It is small enough to know everyone and large enough to find more space and activities. God Bless You for Your Loving Care.”

In our assisted living home w/strong nursing, your loved one will be safe, healthy, engaged, and proud. In 2016, 5 residents needed high care and moved to us from bigger assisted living homes.
