Matching our splendid architecture are beautiful and spacious apartments that offer all the charms of home. Most homes feature spectacular views of the lake or the downtown skyline. Each airy and light-filled apartment showcases a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, abundant closet space, walk-in showers, high ceilings with crown moldings, designer wall colors, wall-to-wall carpets and more. Plus, there is peace of mind knowing that our staff is here residents 24-hours a day.

THE TERRACE ROOM RESTAURANT
Delicious and healthy food is served to our residents in our acclaimed public restaurant, the Terrace Room. With its spectacular walls of glass and unparalled views of the lake and cityscape, it offers a stunning and beautiful atmosphere to enjoy meals and host friends. It is welcoming, intergenerational and reflective of our greater community. In 2013, The Terrace Room was ranked in Oakland Tribune’s Restaurant Week ‘Salute to Dining’ as one of its top five ‘favorites’ in the City’s thriving culinary scene. OUR PROGRAMS
In addition to our 24-hour on-site concierge, The Lake Merritt residents participate in a community which views growing older as an opportunity for learning, having new experiences and being engaged in daily life. We bring people together, young and old, for our weekly ‘Conversations’ to learn, discuss and explore a wide-range of topics. We also offer a roster of expert speakers to lead programs on a wide variety of interests, including social, environmental and health topics along with local and regional issues. Residents also enjoy the opportunity to be more active. Three times a week our in-house personal trainer works individually with residents on a program that helps build strength, flexibility and balance. Our location is irresistible to those who like fresh air and walking and our National Walk Score is 97 out of 100!

LAKEFRONT LIVING — LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
The Lake Merritt community is directly across the street from Lake Merritt – Oakland’s spectacular 140-acre park and national wildlife sanctuary. As part of a spectacular transformation approved by Oakland voters, Lake Merritt has recently completed a $198 million renewal and now boasts: 3.1 miles of shoreline complete with shady, tree-lined boulevards, brand-new walking paths and bike ways, a lakeside park with a nature center, gardens, boating and lots more. Arts and culture goers will be pleased to be just a short walk away from the museums, theaters, gourmet shops and restaurants. In addition to The Lake Merritt’s free transportation to our neighboring communities, we are just steps away from BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and local buses.
