Several couples live here, and an unusually high percentage of Melbourne residents are men! Daily social and cultural events engage residents on many levels. Residents benefit from our daily fitness classes, and state-of-the-art Keiser and NuStep exercise equipment. A hallmark of Wingate Healthcare, our fitness program focuses on increasing strength, balance, range of motion, and vitality. Additional wellness education is promoted through Melbourne’s registered nurse case manager, and informative lecture presentations with healthcare professionals.

The Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place offers gracious apartment-style assisted living, and additionally features The Neighborhood; our program for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and other memory concerns. The Neighborhood offers special assisted living environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and memory impairment. The program works to bring out the best in residents, while offering security and comfort to their families. All Neighborhood staff members are certified through the National Alzheimer’s Association’s ‘Care For People With Alzheimer’s Disease’ training program, promoting care giving within the context of relationship building between staff, the resident, and their family and friends. Our caring staff, many of whom have worked here since we opened in 1998, brings out the best in residents, offering personal care, security and peace of mind.
